Grandpa! I love you very much! I am going to miss you and everyday now I wish that we could have spent more time together. However, I cherish the moments we did have together and I'm happy and peaceful knowing you're no longer in pain and not suffering! Please watch over my family and I! Until we see each other again.... Rest easy!

Oh Dad, I miss you so much already! I miss our visits doing puzzles together, sharing meals with you, and listening to your jokes and wit. I so much wish now that I had visited you more often in spite of my very busy schedule. I know there are stories from individuals who you have impacted over the years and hopefully these people will share those stories with us here on your blog site. I love you and I will see you again someday. Your daughter, Winona Correa.

Silas will be missed by all of us, he was a faithful servant to the Lord, and a blessing to our Church, always willing to preach, teach, or offer communion. Whatever was asked he was willing to do for the Lord. His smile and sense of humor remained thru till the end. In the nearly 50 years we've known him, we have cherished his faithfulness. He will be remembered for helping the Christian Native Voice heard and respected. Pastor Sonny & Becky White, Christ the Answer Church, Golden CO

Bro Silas has known my family for almost 20 years. He was a great pastor and amazing man. Bro Silas and I shared the same birthday, every time I saw him he had a big smile and would give me a great big hug and ask "How's my birthday buddy doing?" He also dedicated my oldest son in a beautiful ceremony at his church. I was going to ask if he would do the same for my younger two sons, but put it off because of busy schedules. I will miss Bro Silas very much, he will have a very special place in my heart. RIP - God Bless, Felisha Nieto & Family

Silas, your unique sense of humor and delivery stand out. That and how much you put yourself out to help people. Whether it was your family, church, and I'm sure, even strangers. May the four winds blow you safely home, Silas

I have a special story to share and I'm so sorry and saddened to hear pastor Silas has passed. My husband and our family moved to Denver in hopes of starting fresh but we were struggling bad. We happened to drive by and I saw the church and got excited to see the name Indian Bible Church, were both native. So we came to services w our 5 lil kids. Pastor Silas began playing his guitar then stopped and spoke. He said he had to say something. He said he wanted to welcome some special ppl and tell us how very rare it was to see a mother, father and children all sitting in church together. After service we had a hot meal together and little did they know how much we needed it. We had been living out of a motel eating cold sandwiches. A week later we decided we just couldn't get on our feet and needed to go back to Nebraska, our baby was out of Pampers and we were desperate. I told him to go to church and all of them pray hard. I stayed home with the baby. He came back and tried to tell me wat happened to him without choking up. He had experienced something he'd never experienced. Some men from Canada came thru to see pastor Silas on there way thru. They called upon anyone in need of prayers to co.e up and Antoine was not the type of person to do that but he said something grabbed him and before he knew it he was walking down the aisle horrified that he was doing it. He said before he could figure out what was going on they all put ther hands on him and started praying. He felt all the weight of stress lift off him and peace came over him. He didn't remember much after that he believed he was in shock. When him and the kids left the men lined up to shake his hand as they walked out. They told him we were going to be ok, as they shook his hand they each placed money in his hand. That money got us back home. Today we live very very well, our 5 kids are all grown and we adopted 5 more. We always remember that lil church and pastor Silas and altho our stay was brief, that experience impacted our lives forever. We wanted to share that and send our love and sympathy and our sincere gratefulness to that lil church that saved us. We were in need and they saved us. Today we appreciate everything we have and try to show that same generosity for others and never forget our struggle. Thank you pastor Silas and Indian Bible Church, sincerely Antoine and Annabelle Edwards- of Omaha, Nebraska
